Are you all so artistic?

Correct me if I am wrong, but are you all artistic?  It seems to me that all of you write or read poetry, write music, or something else.  Is EPIC or the class you are inrolled in geared towards artistic students?

Distant Learning Classes

Here at CHS, we have a few classes offered to us through a distant-learning program called Erving. In these classes, there is no teacher actually present in the classroom, but there is one at another school, who is shown on TVs in the room. There is also a camera that allows the teacher to see each class. Additionally, people from several different schools often make up one of these classes. I am currently enrolled in an accounting class with this program here. Do you have any distant-learning classes similar to this? If so, what classes?

Food

At CHS, we are served breakfast and lunch. I've personally never had breakfast here, so I can't say what it's like. Our lunch has four different options. One line is soup on Mondays, Wednesdays, and sometimes Fridays. On Tuesdays and every other Friday we have baked potato. On Thursday there is stir fry. The next line is usually something like hamburgers, hot dogs, chicken sandwiches, etc. The next line is ALWAYS some form of pizza. The last line is what the rest of the district has for their only lunch option. Something like mashed potatoes and gravy, subs, sandwiches, things like that. Our lunch costs about $2.30 I think? That can vary with your family's income and things like that. We also have a la carte, which are things like chips, yogurt, muffins, juice, etc. Those things cost extra (and are kind of expensive to be honest.) We also have vending machines around school that have water and juice, Uncrustables, cookies, and muffins. There isn't much junk food in any of our vending machines. What kind of food do you have at Epic?

School to Work

We have an opportunity during the school day to work at local businesses. They are able to get credits by doing this. Instead of going to school all day, the students are able to pursue in a career that will help them prepare for the future. Is something like this offered at your school? I am in the school to work program, but I am only gone from the school day first hour. I run a school newspaper called the Trucker Times through our local newspaper. It's a demanding job, but it helps keep me on track with getting things done.

Access and Technology

This year our school purchased Chromebooks (basically a laptop limited to using Google and specific Google apps) for each student between 8th and 12th grade. Many students have smart phones but not all. How do you access the internet and other technologies? What devices and hardware is available to you? At my house I have WiFi and a personal computer in my room; I also have a smart phone with data enabled.

Neighborhood

My house remains unlocked every night, and no one has ever tried to rob us.  It's strange to think that a place only about 4 hours away from us can be so different.  What do you do around your neighborhood to maintain security and safety in and around your home?

School Clubs

We are pretty limited with school clubs in Clintonville. We have German club, Spanish Club, Ski club, FFA, National Honors Society, and Link Crew. What kind of clubs do you have?
I know that a lot of students here at CHS get stressed by school. To alleviate this stress most students hang out with friends and go to our area movie theaters. Where do you usually go to alleviate stress?
